A Family’s Wish

“A Family’s Wish” is a collective art piece inspired by my family. I wanted my art to represent what it means to be a daughter of immigrants.

My work revolves around what it means to grow up in fear, a statement that resonates with many children of undocumented parents. The fear of family separation is a reality that countless children and families have faced. In light of the ICE raids that have occurred over the past few months, my art showcase was deeply inspired by children who were separated from their families. Children should be able to dream and hope for something bigger in life, rather than being stuck in detention centers with unimaginable conditions. My collection is created with watercolors, scanned textures, and line work to tell a story.
